The Designer
Hi, I’m Marsha. Basically, I love God, Anberlin, music, gigs & concerts, food, the English language, design & coffee (big Starbucks fan). …yeah, just a boring geeky girl. :3 To know more in depth, you’d probably have to hang out with me.
A little history on my web design background: I fell in love with web design back in 1999, when I was just 11. My first web page was a Ben Adams fan page on Homestead. :p I started teaching myself basic HTML, and moved from free blog sites (DiaryLand helped a lot with regards to practicing HTML) to a more popular free hosting website, Geocities (closed in October 2009).
Not too long after I’d set up my blog on Geocities, a lovely lady by the name of Emily offered to host me on her tutorial site. It was my first taste and foray into the world of domains. Soon after, I started longing for one of my own. By this time, my knowledge of HTML had expanded to more than just basic. Emily also encouraged me to start learning CSS, and I wondered why I was always so daunted by it.
After years of talks, my dad finally gave in and let me have my first domain, UndividedHonesty.net, in 2008. :D It was wonderful and I was thankful for it. Pity one year flew by and I barely got a chance to do much with it because I was in my final year at NAFA (excuses, pfft!). When it expired in mid 2009, I decided to go with an easy to remember and type domain name, Eight59.net.
Just in case you’re wondering why Eight59, and what significance it has for me, it’s the time at which I was born. :) I’d been toying around with the idea of making it my domain name for the longest time ever, and finally made it so when I could.
Eight59.net is hosted on MJZHosting, with Namecheap as its domain registrar. Both of which I highly recommend. <3
